Schadrack Graduates

From selling handmade art on the side of the road in Rwanda as a teenager to graduating from St. Edward’s University in Austin with a degree in Mathematics.

This week, Schadrack officially graduated after years of balancing full-time studies with work, internships, financial uncertainty, and the constant pressure that comes with trying to build a future from almost nothing. Along the way, he earned Dean’s List honors nearly every semester.

He has now been offered a paid internship with Snowflake in Silicon Valley, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time role this September. He has also been interviewing with companies including IBM and currently has two additional full-time job offers in Austin while continuing through the interview process.

I flew back to the U.S. to surprise him at graduation because there was no way I could miss this moment. Watching him walk across that stage was overwhelming.

Years ago, we met Schadrack selling artwork from a roadside cooperative in Rwanda. Seeing where he is today is a reminder of what opportunity, resilience, and long-term support can do.

An extraordinary accomplishment. Proud of you, Schadrack.
